A Bit About Our Playgroup

All Saints Playgroup & Preschool was founded in 1989 by Hilary Fraser and Christine Knight to provide care for pre-school children aged between two and four years old. We are privately run and hold our sessions in the John Wood room which is located at the back of All Saints Church in Cheltenham. We pride ourselves on having created a warm, nurturing environment where children enjoy learning and making friends.

Our aim is for the children attending our group to be able to learn everyday skills through play and to learn about the world around them, whilst also learning to socialise well and share happily with others. Creativity is an exciting part of our playgroup and our children enjoy involving themselves in art projects and also taking part in dance and movement.

Special Occasions

Each Christmas we put on a Nativity play in the church which is a very special for both the children and their parents, the local school visit us when we do our Dress Rehearsal which is lovely seeing some of the children that have attended our group

Easter Bonnet Parade

We hold an Easter Bonnet Parade every year where the parents make their bonnets with their parents

Sports Day and Family Picnic & Graduation

We have a lovely afternoon celebrating our year with a picnic followed by a for our pre-schoolers and then sports day, this is rounded off with ice cream for everyone

Outdoor Play

Weather permitting, we like to get outside as much as we can and, as well as a secure area for children to play outdoors, we are also fortunate to have the use of an allotment at the back of the church. The children help to plant flowers, fruits and vegetables and, once they have helped us to harvest them, we often eat them at snack time. A popular area of the allotment is the mud kitchen, where children enjoy getting messy whilst making anything from mud pies to snail stew! We require the children to bring their Wellingtons however we do have spares if they forget them.

We welcome all parents and carers to visit our sessions and join in the fun.
